A former teacher at chancellor George Osborne's old school has been charged with child porn offences.

Sutton man Anthony Fuggle, 57, was has been charged with 11 offences of making indecent images of children and six of possessing indecent images of children.

Mr Fuggle, of Sandy Lane, was arrested last year and charged yesterday after attending a police station to answer bail.

He is due to appear in front of Wimbledon magistrates on Friday, June 20.

Mr Fuggle is understood to have taught classics at St Paul's School in Barnes, which counts Mr Osborne, Mumford and Sons banjo player Winston Marshall and TV presenter Dan Snow among its alumni.

He was at St Paul's for 20 years and was on the board of Independent Schools Adventure Cruises, which runs overseas holidays for children.

Mr Fuggle was arrested as part of Operation Winthorpe.
