I live near Mellows park where the attack on this poor woman took place last week. I hope the man will be found soon by the police they are appealing for witnesses. someone I would think must have heard or seen something when this happened in the park. To think this attack took place in broad daylight early in the day. You would think that walking through the park that time of the day you would be safe. I stopped visiting the park sometime ago with my dog as there where quite a lot of people most days in the park drinking alcohol and acting in a drunken manner although I believe the park is a no alcohol area like most parks in the borough of Sutton. I think this problem has improved of late police I believe patrol the park when they can. Women want to be able to go to places like Mellows park and not fear being attacked and so does everyone else in the borough including myself.
