Patsy J Hudson

Patsy J. Hudson of Weybridge (recently moved from Letchworth Garden City). A beloved Mother, Goko, and friend. Passed away on Thursday 31 May, 2018 after a short illness. A memorial service will be held in the garden at the residential location of 39 Pasture Road, Letchworth, on 15 June, at 11:30 a.m. Patsy was born on the 9th of July in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, a daughter of the late George and Violet Baxter. Patsy was predeceased by her husband Tony Hudson, and her brother Ian. Patsy was an accomplished journalist for many years, focusing mainly on human interest stories. More recently she wrote travel articles for Hertfordshire Life. She spent her later years as a checkout person at Morrison's in Letchworth, and then in Weybridge, where she greatly enjoyed the company of her customers. In Patsy's spare time she belonged to the Red Hatters society and was almost always found wearing red and/or purple. She was an active member of the Christ Church Baldock in Letchworth, and had recently joined the Wey Christian Fellowship in Weybridge. Patsy was also a dedicated volunteer at the Multiple Sclerosis Centre, where she looked after their garden for over 15 years. Patsy is survived by her son, David Hudson, his wife Jenn, their daughters Sophie and Katherine; her "chosen" daughter Michelle, her husband Ted, and their son Lexy; and her "chosen" son Christopher, his wife Chantelle, and their daughter Indigo. All who met Patsy would agree that she was one of a kind: a clever, witty, creative, courageous and often outrageous personality who marched to the beat of her own Scottish Pipe Band. Patsy had recently moved to Weybridge to be nearer to her grandchildren, and in a short time before her passing, she had made many happy memories with her family. She will be sorely missed.
