Once a friend had pointed out all the benefits of this location, my wife and I set our hearts on living in this quiet cul-de-sac, conveniently close to the centre of the village and railway station. says Malcolm. Luckily, this particular house came onto the market and we immediately fell in love with it. A house full of charm and character, with generous accommodation, built in 1926, in excellent condition and with delightful views. We recognized its potential to become a fabulous home and came to live here with our two young daughters forty-two years ago. Our main task was to build a large extension at the rear of the house to provide a utility room, together with a generous sized kitchen/ breakfast room, which is very much a family favourite and known as the snug , where time is spent over meals and relaxed chat. In addition there is a large, attractive dining room which can easily seat twelve or more guests comfortably. The main reception room is where we like to retire in the evenings, plus there is an extremely well-used study. Access from the kitchen, or through large patio doors from the sitting room, is onto a large patio, frequently used in the summer months for the joy of outdoor meals, especially when children and grandchildren are visiting. There is also a summer house which is an idyllic spot for quiet relaxation. It s a delightful garden, especially in the springtime when the magnolia tree comes into bloom. It is just a short, pleasant walk into the village where there are highly rated primary and secondary schools, excellent shops and other amenities. There are wonderful sports facilities just around the corner from the house including a fitness centre and Banstead Downs Golf Club is just over a mile away to the south. The Surrey countryside is very close and one of my favourite walking areas is on Epsom Downs. Sadly, my wife passed away five years ago; I have now remarried and we wish to make a fresh start in a new home, but I will take away many happy memories of family life in this lovely house .
