Visitors flock to Battersea Park Affordable Art Fair to snap up a bargain
11:00am Monday 29th October 2012 in Freetime By Alexandra Rucki
Hundreds of visitors flocked to the Affordable Art Fair this weekend in the hope of snapping up a bargain.
The event, which took place in Battersea Park, featured art work ranging in prices from £40 to £4,000.
Organisers highlighted pieces under £500, making the fair more accessible for people who do not normally splash out on expensive artwork.
There were also 'Really, Really Affordable Art' tours put on to help visitors find bargains.
Work by big names such as Damien Hirst, Mark Quinn and Stanley Donwood showcased their work, alongside BP Portrait Award shortlisted artists.
The fair has been running since 1999 and has seen £155m of art sold by exhibiting galleries.
