A charity band night is taking place to raise money for St George's Hospital neo-natal unit.

Funk, soul and blues act Bodkin Lane will be taking to the stage, with hopes to raise £2,000.

The event has been organised by Eleanor Jaques, whose premature son Matthew was cared for by the unit in 2011.

Tragically Matthew died shortly afterwards but Eleanor is hoping to raise money for First Touch in his memory, the charity which supports the neo-natal unit.

Almost all the costs of the unit's specialist equipment is funded by charitable donations, with more than 500 babies treated every year.

Bodkin Lane, friends of the charity, liken themselves to The Blues Brothers and are composed of people with day jobs who share a passion for soul, funk and blues.
