Tinker Bell the video game for the Nintendo DS is every little girl’s dream come true – but does playing it have a fairytale ending?

The answer, if my six-year-old daughter’s enjoyment of it is anything to go by, is a resounding yes.

Players get to be their favourite Disney fairy Tinker Bell, exploring the magical world of Pixie Hollow.

Your Local Guardian: Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell - Nintendo DS Tinker Bell can complete various mini games, such as catching dew drops, decorating ladybirds and tickling silkworms, in order to earn rewards.

These rewards can be spent at the fairy market place, where players can choose from hundreds of dresses, clothes, shoes and accessories to fully customise Tinker Bell.

The industrious little fairy can even set the trends around Pixie Hollow by gifting outfits to other fairies she had made friends with.

Talking of friends, Tinker Bell can also earn medals by completing tasks for other fairies such as repairing broken items and finding missing things.

Your Local Guardian: Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell - Nintendo DS A cute aspect of the Tinker Bell is it utilises the real-time clock of the DS.

So the game’s environments reflect the time of year and even the time of day. Players see snow falling in the winter, flowers blossoming in the winter and fireflies coming out at night – the fairies will even throw a big party of their birthday.

Little girls aged around five to seven will get a big kick out of this game. It’s very cutesy, colourful and will be right up their street if they are into Disney, fairies or just pretty things in general.

The variety in the game – thanks to the large number of options, customisations and the changing environments – should keep them entertained for hours.

It’s a well presented, good value game which immerses players into the make-believe world of one of Disney’s much-loved characters.

Verdict: 7 out of 10 - a good game for little girls
