Americana-soul band come to Putney on UK leg of tour
Americana-soul band JT and the Clouds are coming to the borough on the UK leg of their latest tour.
The Chicago band play a combination of rough-edged, sad and hopeful tunes, with a shot of soul thrown into the mix.
Their music is aware of the ever-changing tides of modern indie music, but remains steeped in Chicago's traditions of soul, rhythm and blues.
The Clouds, led by Jeremy JT Lindsay, have been releasing records and touring since 2004.
UK audiences may be familiar with the band, after they backed Allison Russell on her solo album which reached number two in the Americana charts last year.
Up until recently they were gaining more attention internationally than in their home-town, but this has changed within the past year after the release of EP demons/demons.
The band have said they refuse to be pigeon-holed, inspired by artists who are also difficult to pin down.
The audience can expect to a new batch of songs, with plans to return to the studio after the tour.
Band members are keen to find out if the attentive UK audiences can dance and listen to the music at the same time during this rock and roll show.
