Carshlaton cake makers produce jubilee cake just in time for the weekend

A crown fit for the queen has appeared in the window at a cake makers in Carshalton.

However, Her Royal Highness would not want to wear the crown, as, believe it or not, it is made out of sugar.

Cake decorator Zahir Rathod from www.nozzlescakecraft.co.uk on Stanley Park Road in Carshalton has been working around the clock for a week to get the cake ready on time.

He said: "It is still late. This is the fifth batch because all the sugar kept melting because it was so hot last week. Unfortunaty it will not be edible, because it is a sponge cake and there is butter cream in it."
