Selsdon Park Hotel gets borough's first licence to wed outdoors
10:15am Thursday 7th June 2012 in Freetime By Sophie Coop
Selsdon Park Hotel can now add a bit of sunshine to Croydon’s weddings.
The Hotel’s new Secret Garden wedding venue is the first outdoor venue in Croydon with a licence to conduct weddings and civil partnerships.
The garden’s licence was granted last week, but the hotel has been working on the land for over 10 months.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Tracy Montgomery said: “The poor gardener, Wayne, has been out there in all weather.
“The hotel is very successful with weddings in general but this offers something completely new.
"It really is a beautiful setting and a lot of work has been done on making it look perfect for a couple's big day.”
The 200 acres of land owned by the hotel is hidden away, but the Secret Garden is very, very secluded.
Tracey said: "You simply wouldn’t know it’s there."
The garden boasts beautiful features, such as an original 17th century rose arbour.
