Karnataka will be appearing at the Epsom Playhouse
The powerful and ethereal sounds of an acclaimed rock band will be coming to the Epsom Playhouse.
Karnataka, whose music is described as breathtaking to haunting, have risen to the forefront of a new wave of female-fronted rock bands following the release of five critically-acclaimed albums.
Formed in 1997 in Cardiff, the band’s current line-up consists of Hayley Griffiths, Ian Jones, Enrico Pinna, Colin Mold, and Cagri Tozluoglu.
Lead vocalist Griffiths, who was named Best Classical Crossover Artist in 2010, is no stranger to the limelight having previously performed as lead vocalist with the global phenomena Riverdance and Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance.
The band's latest release, The Gathering Light, won Best International Album at the World Web Awards.
Winning plaudits from the press and media, including Radio 2's Bob Harris, Karnataka have performed in the UK, USA and Europe alongside prestigious artists such as Robert Plant and Porcupine Tree.
Following the success of their spring tour playing to sell-out audiences, the band makes a much anticipated return to the stage with the announcement of The Forbidden Dreams Tour.
