Our mysterious lady of leisure Wanda has been out exploring the night spots that make south-west London the place to be.

Hosting a friend who thinks everything revolves around Shoreditch I knew I had to find that extra class that distinguishes us south-of-the-river types from the rest of the capital.

SO.UK seemed a good start and pushing our way inside we were transported from the rainy streets of London to a Middle Eastern palace.

Plush sofas surround large gold tables, big enough to rest the cocktails we begin to work our way through.

The cocktail menu features martinis, short and long cocktails, champagne-based drinks and pitchers.

Staff are happy to recommend drinks if you are finding it difficult to make a decision. We select the Dark and Stormy vs Brazil – a mixture of rum, fresh lime, pineapple and ginger beer.

Moroccan, Thai, Lebanese and Chinese-inspired meals are all on offer from the food menu.

A sharing platter gives diners the option to pick three dishes to share with your partner for £10.

Next we head across the road to Venn Street Records for some live music.

Bands and solo acts play in the venue on a regular basis, with sets usually starting at 9pm.

Shelves of records and vintage gig posters plaster the walls.

We drink the house red wine while settling in a booth tucked away in the back.

After the bands DJs play a mix of classic indie hits, chart music and crowd-pleasers.
