Sutton's sixth Arts Festival kicks off in June displaying the creative talents of the borough.

As well as giving artistic talent the platform to show off their skills, the festival aims to support talent and broaden the community's participation with the arts and reach new audiences.

Between the 1 and 17 of June, across the borough The Imagine Festival incorporating theatres, heritage sites and libraries.

It is funded by Sutton Council and all the activities are free and open to all. On June 3 The Gary Mason Rhythmical Empowerment Charitable Foundation will present a powerful African drumming workshop and performance in Sutton High Street.

The charity, set up in memory of former Sutton boxer Gary Mason, invites you to "discover your inner rhythm-your heartbeat".

As part of the Traveller History Month, children and families are welcome to an interactive storytelling session at the Europa Gallery to explore the life of a traveller family in an exhibition on June 6.

Throughout the month, on June 2, 9 and 16, Theatre in the Square invites people to join in with theatre group.

Created by Humpsay Dearie, people are encouraged to act, sing and lark about by joining the street theatre group in Trinity Square to perform a play in three parts.

To celebrate the Queen's Jubilee, residents are being encouraged to customise their own Union Jack flag in a silk painting workshop at he Riiverside Centre on June 6.

For all the gardeners out there, on June 5 and 10, Eco-Local is hosting a creative gardening workshop to let people create a container garden for fruit, veg and flowers on the plot, using recycled materials and learn the secrets of Hazel and Willow weaving.
