Take a trip to the stately home of Polesden Lacey this festive season to enjoy an authentic Edwardian Christmas.

The National Trust mansion in Great Bookham near Leatherhead is the perfect setting to step back in time and enjoy Christmas as it was in the 1900s.

The whole house will be decroated for an Edwardian Christmas as it would have been at the time of its most famous owner, Mrs Greville - a friend of royalty and one of the most influential hostesses of her time.

Horse drawn carriages, sleigh rides and father Christmas will be on hand to entertain children and adults alike throughout the day. Take time to admire the 18 foot Christmas tree in the central hall which took a team of six all day to dress with hundreds of handmade decorations. Mrs Greville’s House at Christmas will run every Saturday and Sunday until December 18 from 11 to 4pm.

Normal admission prices, plus an additional house entry charge of £2 adult, £1 child applies and parking is free.

Last minute bookings for an Edwardian Christmas Dinner Dance are also being taken to be held in the Courtyard Restaurant on Saturday, December 17, where you can enjoy a three course menu and live music provided by Javajam. Tickets are £40 per person and must be booked in advance.

The restaurant will also be offering Christmas lunches every weekday throughout December with three courses and coffee for only £22.50, or two courses and coffee for £19.50.
