A craft studio has opened its doors to new parents, with a programme of daytime courses and a crèche to fit around family life.

The Old School Club, based in Este Road, Battersea gives parents the chance to make the most of their maternity leave and learn a new skill.

Craft fans can learn sewing, quilting, photography and even knicker making in a family friendly environment.

The studio also offers an on-site crèche so little ones can be looked after in safety.

Local businesses and tutors also offer classes at the studio, giving participants the chance to create something unique.

Inma Goodhew, manager of the club, came up with the idea when she was on maternity leave herself and struggled to find a daytime craft course.

She said: "Maternity leave is a fantastic mother-baby time and a great chance for mums to meet up with other mums.

"It is also an opportunity to enjoy new hobbies and skills otherwise forgotten in our busy schedules."

Sewing and crochet studio runs at The Old School Club, Este Road, Battersea from 10am to 1pm on Wednesdays costing £5 for an hour.

The knicker-making workshop is on February 7 and costs £30.
