Long gone are the days of pumpkin spiced lattes and the odd cocktail or beer at the pub, there’s a new drink in town.

The ‘latt-ale’ is a new latte style beer announced by Meantime Brewing Co using espresso-style concentrate with a cream ale.

Greenwich's Meantime Brewing Co has collaborated with East London-based Nude Coffee Roasters in the hope to create the next best thing.

The combi-beer is designed with the specific intention of being mixed and enjoyed together as you would coffee and milk.

You will also be able to customise your pint in the same way you can with a coffee, mixing the beers at varying ratios to coffee such as an americano or flat White.

The blended beers were masterminded by Meantime’s BrewMaster, Ciaran Giblin and Head Roaster at Nude Coffee Roasters, Kane Stratton.

Ciaran said: “The best part of my job is experimenting with new beer styles and bringing something a little bit different to our drinkers.”

The first of the ‘beerista’ beers is Meantime’s Espresso Coffee Porter (9% ABV). This brew is an intense, complex porter balanced with beans sustainably sourced from a farm in El Salvador.

Next up, the Cream of The Crop (4 per cent ABV). This rich and creamy beer was brewed with oats and lactose for a smooth flavour. The creaminess is offset by the subtle fruitiness of the hops.

The Beerista beers will launch at the Nude Espresso Roastery pop-up and The Meantime Brewery Tasting Rooms from October 23-29. Beers are available on draught, and to purchase take away in 300ml bottles.
