If you know someone who’d like to learn a few dance steps with High School Musical Wildcats Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor, then Disney’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance! might be just the game for their Christmas stocking.

It took me a while to get the hang of this game but I kind of got there in the end.

The idea was for my four-year-old to have a go, but she was more interested in creating new Wildcats and customising outfits and accessories for them – one of several features of this game.

There are 29 songs from all three High School Musical films to choose from and you can choose your difficulty levels from sophomore, junior or senior.

Just beware because after you’ve been at it for an hour or so your muscles might start to complain a little.

There are several different tutorials to choose from to get you started. Try these because they will teach you the basics, but really it’s only once you actually start to dance that you will get the hang of it.

It could be great for a bit of family fun at Christmas and it teaches a bit of rhythm and co-ordination.

Other features are that you can browse the East High yearbook to view career and song stats for your personal profile and there is also the option to use the two player menu so you can challenge a friend in a dance competition.

I think small children will have fun with this, if they have mum or dad to help. If they’re playing alone, they probably need to be a bit older.

I haven’t seen the High School Musical movies but I still enjoyed it. I’m guessing that if you are a fan, you will absolutely love it.
