Record Store Day 2014 was officially launched in Kingston yesterday, as radio DJs and rock stars came to Banquet Records to celebrate record shops across the country.
London indie radio station XFM broadcast live from the Eden Street store, while Editors frontman Tom Smith dropped by to play a live acoustic set for a select group of fans.
Record Store Day celebrates physical music releases, as opposed to downloads, and champions the joys of shopping for vinyl, CDs and cassettes at music stores like Banquet.
Some of the biggest bands in the world will be releasing exclusive one-off records, singles, re-issues and rarities, as well as an assortment of collectables that can only be bought in stores.
This year's Record Store Day is on April 19.
Visit Banquet's website to see what's on offer on the day.
