Acclaimed folk band The Willows – whose most recent album received five stars in the Telegraph – will play Thames Ditton’s The Ram Club next month.

The young band are fresh from a break - during which founder members Cliff Ward and Jade Rhiannon welcomed their first child - and will perform original, covers and traditional songs from the first two records as well as some that might make the cut for their third.

The Willows were formed in 2010 by husband and wife Cliff and Jade alongside sister Prue Ward and Ben Savage, who they met via Gumtree. Since then they have added percussionist Evan Carson to their line-up.
Their debut album Beneath our Humble Soil was released in 2013, followed by 2014’s Amidst Fiery Skies, which was described as ‘a triumph’ and awarded five stars by the Telegraph.

They have gone on to play festivals around the country, including Glastonbury, and have been championed by the likes of Radio 2 presenter Bob Harris.

The Willows play The Ram Club at Old Cranleighan Club in Thames Ditton on Friday, April 22. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance. Go to acespace.org.uk or call 07905 590214.
