Kingston will be turned into a musical mecca tomorrow as the Oxjam for Oxfam festival takes over five venues in the town.

More than 20 acts - ranging from soul and reggae to metal and electro pop - will be performing at The Fighting Cocks, Bishop out of Residence, Knights Park Bar, The Grey Horse and The Space.

Entertainers from Circus Surbibia will also be popping into venues along with other surprise guests.

The event is one of five happening throughout London with every penny raised on the night through wristband sales, fundraising games and extra donations going straight to Oxfam.

Former X-Factor star Diana Vickers headlined the Oxfam shop show last month to launch a month of Oxjam events and said: “The best thing is that everyone who takes part – from singers like me to musicians, promoters and audience members – is the real star of Oxjam.

"It’s exciting to think that anyone can get involved and every single gig will help to raise loads of money to change lives around the world.”

Headlining acts in Kingston tomorrow will be metal band Spirytus (Fighting Cocks), acoustic hip-hop group Free Peace (Knights Park Bar), singer-songwriters Jem Cooke (Bishop out of Residence) and Jamie Abott (The Grey Horse) as well as Kingston's very own pop-indie four-piece No MAD (The Space) Tickets bought in advance can be exchanged for wristbands at Kingston train station, where you can also by tickets, on the night, Wristbands will also get you into the Oceana nightclub for a discounted rate.
