If you've ever wondered how beatboxers create every noise under the sun with just their mouth, a microphone and a loop sampler, here's your chance to find out.

World Loopstation Champion Shlomo is holding a one-hour beatboxing masterclass at Rose Theatre on Monday afternoon before performing his one man musical mashup show, Mouthtronica, in the evening.

With some help from the audience, the show will see the oral magician create original soundscapes ranging from experimental vocal acrobatics to one-man renditions of classic tunes.

He will tell the story of how he became a beatboxer, from being three years old playing Arabic drums and belly dancing at his Iraqi-Jewish grandmother's parties to beatboxing with Bjork on the Jools Holland show.

During his career he has worked with a diverse range of artists such as DJ Yoda, Martha Wainwright, Jarvis Cocker and his beatbox troupe The Vocal Orchestra.

His skills recently earned him the title of UK Loopstation Champion and he then competed at the World Championships in Los Angeles last month, claiming the top prize for the UK ahead of entrants from Japan and Hungary.

The workshop takes place at 4.30pm and the show at 7.30pm with a combined ticket for both costing £18.
