Rugby band to Richmond rock music festival

Weybridge Vandals Rugby Club’s house band, Big Tackle, will share the bill with Radio One DJ Zane Lowe at rugby, netball and music festival Rugby Rocks 2012 at Richmond’s Athletic Ground next month.

The quartet – Guy Holvey-Clark, Mark Gallie, Stuart Amos and Andy Jones – are all members at the Brownacres club and make their return to the event having appeared on the bill with Feeder at Rugby Rocks 2010.

Former England Test cricketer Mark Butcher – and his band – is in the line-up, along with England rugby star Olly Barkley, who is performing a DJ set Festival DJs Goldierocks and Benji Boko – plus Brighton Indie rockers Icarus Youth and singer/ songwriter Leila Williams – complete the line-up on the Saturday of the two-day event, which features as part of English rugby’s National Sevens Series.

Rugby Rocks is staged on the same weekend as the Aviva Premiership final – which will be on a big screen at the Kew Foot Road ground – on May 26, while England’s clash with the Barbarians on May 27 will also be screened.
