Chloe Grace Moretz has said she considered getting breast enhancement surgery when she was 16 because of pressure she felt about the way she looked.

The actress, 21, best known for her role in Kick Ass and its sequel, said she felt insecure after a bra with silicone inserts was left in her trailer while making a film.

She told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine: “I was, like: ‘Where did these come from?’ Those little things were insidious.

“Even though you can brush them off, you still internalise them. They make you question yourself and think ‘Well, maybe I am unhappy with the size of my breasts’.”

She added: “I’ve had to look at Hollywood my whole life. The people I’ve been comparing myself to are people who are not real.”

She added she has turned down roles that she views as hypersexualised, saying: “I choose the roles that connect to me the most. I’m a very strong woman … I couldn’t just be a girlfriend. Oh my god. Literally, no way.”

Moretz, who will next be seen in new film The Miseducation Of Cameron Post about a teenage girl sent to a Christian-run “gay conversion” camp, told the magazine she did not want to comment on the end of her relationship with David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn.

Asked about it, she replied: “I want nothing to be said.”
