Is he cuckoo? Will Ferrell has given a hilarious new interview – joined by a cockatoo on his shoulder.

The Get Hard funnyman was appearing on Conan O’Brien’s chatshow, where he refused to discuss his bird, who he called Professor Feathers.

But Will did chat to the presenter about Dame Maggie Smith, who he joked he had had a fling with, and to reveal he won’t be starring in Zoolander 2.

Will told Conan: “Here’s the deal. I’m happy to come on your show. I’m happy to talk about the movie, Get Hard. I’m happy to talk about anything, but I don’t want to talk about my personal life, OK? Uhm, you know, so, we’re not going to discuss the bird on my shoulder, OK?”

When asked about Meryl Streep’s recent comment that she had a crush on him, Will said: “I’m already betrothed to Maggie Smith. I’m more of a Maggie Smith fan.

“We’ve already done it. In foggy London town… I got my butler outfit on and we did a little Downton Abbey, if you know what I mean.”

Will starred with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in hit 2001 comedy Zoolander as villain Jacobim Mugatu.

But he revealed he will not be reprising the role for the sequel, which is shooting at the moment, to boos from the disappointed audience.

Will quipped: “You won’t boo after you hear the reason. They wouldn’t let me bring Professor Feathers.”

Will Ferrell’s interview on Conan airs in the UK at 1am on Tuesday March 31, on truTV.
