Andy Serkis is set to suit up for Episode 7 of Star Wars.
The Lord Of The Rings star is getting back into his motion capture gear to portray Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, according to Vanity Fair.
The Golden Globe-nominated actor is photographed in a full-length motion capture suit for a magazine shoot by Annie Leibovitz. While further details about his character are being kept under wraps, this is the first time his character’s name has been revealed.
Andy’s alter-ego Snoke is the ominous voiceover, which featured in the first teaser trailer.
“There has been an awakening,” he said. “Have you felt it? The dark side – and the light.”
Andy is no stranger to motion capture, having portrayed Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit films, and chimpanzee Caesar in the Planet Of The Apes movies.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by JJ Abrams, opens in UK cinemas on December 18.
