The BBC has won two prestigious gongs at this year’s Edinburgh TV Awards.

The awards, hosted by Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle, are part of the annual Edinburgh International Television Festival.

BBC One won Channel of the Year and BBC One’s drama series, Happy Valley, was named New Programme of the Year.

Other winners include Red Production Group, the producers of Happy Valley, who were named Production Company of the Year.

The Best Online Innovation Award went to Reverse The Odds for Channel 4′s Stand Up To Cancer show.

Voting for the TV Moment of the Year remains open until the end of the festival, and can only be done via the festival app for this category.

The Programme Choice Award will be voted for by this year’s Ones To Watch and The Network, the festival’s talent schemes.
