Perry takes gran to Billboard bash

Katy Perry took her grandma to the Billboard ceremony
Katy Perry took her grandmother as a date to the Billboard Music Awards, while fellow songstress Adele picked up a dozen gongs.
The Wide Awake singer - who split from husband Russell Brand last year after 14 months of marriage - was at the event in Las Vegas to collect the prestigious Spotlight Award and thought her gran would be her perfect plus one.
She tweeted: "My date to tonight's Billboard Music Awards is hotter than the las vegas weather. SMOKIN'!"
As well as picking up a gong, Katy was a leader in the fashion stakes, wearing a white and lilac Blumarine dress and sporting purple hair. But she wasn't the only eye-catching star on the red carpet, as Miley Cyrus almost stole the show by turning up in a super-short blazer dress with a plunging neckline and black and white heels.
Adele was the big winner at the star-studded event, scooping 12 awards including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Pop Artist.
Other winners included Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyonce, Chris Brown, LMFAO and Taylor Swift, who was named Billboard Woman Of The Year. The 22-year-old US country star, who wore a flowing red dress to the ceremony, said she was "humbled and honoured" to have been given the trophy.
Stevie Wonder received the Icon Award while the late Whitney Houston was honoured with the Billboard Millennium Award.
Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina picked up the award on behalf of her late mum.
She said: "I just really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all. Not just when it was good, but when it was bad too ... thank you so much for showing that much love, because she deserved it."
