This years’ Beacons Festival looks set to carry on where last year left off.

The line up, if possible, is even better, with a distinctly dancier vibe attempting to attract some of the more stoic and weather hardened electro and dance kids.

John Talabot, Bonobo, Theo Parrish, Floating Points and Move D are among the artists set to get the disco beats resonating around the Skipton hillside.

It is the second year proper of the festival after the washout of 2011, but the organisers appear to be making up for lost time by pulling in not only the hottest DJ’s around, but some of the most cutting edge bands.

Melody’s Echo Chamber are fresh from a much talked about Primavera performance, and the savvy inclusion of Moon Duo to bridge the band/DJ gap, will be sure to send the crowd into raptures.

Solange will be ruing the day she had children after she pulled out due to ‘family commitments’, as the aptly named Funkirk Estate will i’m sure be one of the festivals of this summer.

Local-ish favourites Drenge will bring the heavy blues to the party, and Hackney slackers Splashh will have the 90’s grunge kids shoe gazing and hair swinging, and there’s sure to be a heavily tattooed and bearded moshpit for F*cked Up.

There is a strong Yorkshire contingent this year which includes Spectrals, Wet Nuns, Hookworms, Cowtown and Eagulls.

After last August's stellar showing, expect the tents to be bursting for Ghostpoet, as well as hip hop hot property Danny Brown. There’s even place for Indie stalwart Malcom Middleton of Arab Strap fame.

Every cool box has been ticked, now it’s just time to grab the cool box and pray for sun.
