The X Factor's new boyband have admitted they let their emotions get the better of them when they discovered they had all made it to the final.

The eight lads - Barclay Beales, Chris Leonard, Casey Johnson and Jake Sims, who are all 19, 20-year-old Tom Mann, 17-year-old James Graham, 16-year-old Reece Bibby and baby of the group Charlie Jones, 14 - all entered the ITV show as solo artists and were put together at boot camp, and are currently known as New Boy Band as they don't have a name.

New Boy Band managed to make it into Louis Walsh's final six for the groups category - but admitted they were so shocked they broke down in tears.

Charlie said: "I don't think any of us thought that all eight of us were going to get in the band. And when Simon said, 'All eight of you are going to be in the band', we were so shocked."

Chris laughed: "I think Barclay cried more when he got a yes that he was in the band then he did when he got a no [as a solo act]."

Charlie, dubbed by his bandmates as the "crier of the band", joked: "I was like, 'what is he crying for, I didn't cry at all!'."

The lads are still trying to work out their places in the band.

Casey admitted: "It's hard because we haven't been together that long."

But while Charlie joked Jake is "the short one", Jake hit back that Charlie is "the young one that can't come out with us!"

And the boys all agreed that the oldest in the group, Tom, is the leader, nicknamed "Uncle Tom".

The boys are still experimenting with musical style too.

Chris said: "It's still early days, we're going to experiment with a lot of different things, we're not going to limit ourselves to just one section."

The boyband are already being tipped to become the next One Direction, with bookmakers William Hill placing them at second favourite to win the show with odds of 9/2, behind soloist Jay James at 7/2.
