Rita Ora has revealed that Calvin Harris was the "right man at the wrong time".

The Black Widow singer and the Scottish DJ announced their split in June on Twitter, and Rita blamed their hectic work schedules for the break-up.

"It was the right guy at the wrong time," she told US Cosmopolitan. "I was about to start a tour, and he was also all over the place. There's only so much you can do when you don't see each other."

The 23-year-old added: "I really admire people who have long-distance relationships. It's an incredible achievement. I couldn't do it."

The couple parted ways after dating for around a year, and Calvin prevented Rita from performing her hit I Will Never Let You Down - which he wrote and produced - at the Teen Choice Awards.

Rita, who graces the front cover of the US edition's December issue in a white studded swimsuit, said she is proud of her body, as well as her openness about sex. She previously admitted to posing for naked photos for friends.

"You have to come to terms with loving your body. Stand naked in front of the mirror and say, 'I'm f***ing sexy.' That's where it starts," she said.

She added: "I'm very proud to say that I think about sex. It's what everybody thinks about, whether they say it or not. For me, sex is a form of getting to know a person - feeling someone's skin."
