Simon Webbe has revealed he wants to win Strictly Come Dancing for his daughter.

The Blue singer, who was saved by the judges for a second time after being in the dance-off opposite Thom Evans on the latest episode of the BBC show, said thinking of his teenage daughter Alanah - whose mother is ex-girlfriend Nicola Jones - kept him motivated.

"When I faced that dance-off, the mother of my daughter sent me a text to say, 'You have to live up to your name. Back in the day we used to call you Snake Hips. So you know what you can do!'," he told The Sun.

"My daughter Alanah told me to 'kill it' too and when I survived, they were so excited. I do get nervous but I think about my daughter.

"I think about my daughter's face and about when she smiles. I see her braces and I think, 'That's my girl - I made her'. That's who I am dancing for."

Simon said Strictly is a tougher challenge than he ever expected it to be.

"This is way harder than anything I have ever done before. It's so surreal," he continued. "I mean, how does a guy from Moss Side end up doing ballroom? I want to get the street out of me. It is a massive mission for me."

The 36-year-old singer also shot down any rumours of a romance with partner Kristina Rihanoff.

"Kristina is a fantastic teacher and told me to be myself. We have so much banter going on. I take the mickey out of her accent and voice. I don't want to let all that tension get in the way of my Strictly experience," he added.
