Simon Cowell has apologised for being so harsh on X Factor contestants Andrea Faustini and Lauren Platt.
The TV judge – dubbed Mr Nasty – was branded “Debbie Downer” by fellow panellists Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini after slating Andrea and Lauren’s performances on last week’s show.
But Simon has now told The Sun: “I had a bad night. I had a really bad headache, I was really grumpy.
“I want to apologise to Andrea and Lauren because I wasn’t being fair.”
Simon – who became a father to son Eric earlier this year – also shot down Cheryl’s recent comments that she will have to choose between being a judge on the show and starting a family with her new husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini next year.
Simon laughed: “Well I had one!”
But he insisted it was too soon to ask Cheryl to sign up for another series on the judging panel.
