Olly Murs may be busy with his UK tour, but he managed to take some time out to unveil his new waxwork at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool.
The pop star gave his wax lookalike a massive hug, much to the delight of his fans who queued for several hours in the pouring rain to see their idol.
“I’ve got a really…I don’t know…. a strange looking body,” he joked. “The first time I looked at myself… I was scared.”
Which prompted a reporter to ask: “What’s strange about it?”
To which Olly replies: “It’s weird isn’t it? Seeing yourself… is strange.”
Addressing those X Factor rumours, the star downplayed the possibility of becoming the replacement host for the ITV show, saying: “There is speculation every year that I am doing the X Factor – whether it’s being a judge or a presenter. So I just ignore all the press. You know what I mean, it’s not really my thing.”
Speaking about The X Factor host Dermot O’Leary – who recently announced on Twitter he was leaving the show, Olly said: “I have known him since 2009 when I did the show as a contestant.
“And yes, it’s obviously a massive shame but like he said, he’s done an incredible eight years and thinks it’s now time for a new chapter.”
