Sam Smith is releasing an extended edition of his chart-topping album In The Lonely Hour, featuring a second CD of new tracks and collaborations.
In The Lonely Hour: The Drowning Shadows Edition includes exclusive track Drowning Shadows, a stripped-back ballad co-written with Fraser T Smith, the man behind Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain.
The second CD also features Sam’s covers of Amy Winehouse’s Love Is A Losing Game and Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know?
Collaborations include Stay With Me with Mary J Blige, I’m Not The Only One with A$AP Rocky, and John Legend joins him for their breath-taking rendition of Lay Me Down.
In The Lonely Hour was Sam’s debut album and has sold more than nine million copies worldwide.
It notched up a record-breaking 69 consecutive weeks in the Official Album Chart top 10, the longest run ever for a debut album.
The new version does not, however, include Sam’s new James Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall, which is expected to hit number one on the singles’ chart this week.
Sam wrote on Twitter that the album was a “final bow before my second album”.
In The Lonely Hour: The Drowning Shadows Edition will be released on November 6.
