Britain’s Weirdest Council Houses on Channel 4 showcased residents whose dwellings are unlike anything you can imagine, but it was 61-year-old Barry Kirk who sparked the most reaction on social media.

The Welshman has turned his obsession with baked beans into a museum of memorabilia associated with the product.

Barry, also known as Captain Beany, claims to have spent £10,000 turning his council flat into an shrine to the popular snack.

Other properties featured included a tribute to the navy on the 11th floor of a tower block in Portsmouth.

Talking about his flat, Barry said: “It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for me it’s a visual concept.”

On social media, many couldn’t believe their eyes.
