Richmond Shakespeare Society (RSS) – one of the borough’s longest-standing theatre companies – is staging Enid Bagnold’s ever-popular play The Chalk Garden next month.
The mood of the play is entirely its own, mixing laughter and melancholy to provide a richly rewarding experience for audiences of all tastes.
It also boasts a top-rate cast that combines some highly experienced performers, among them many Artsrichmond Swan Award winners and nominees, and a handful of talented newcomers to the local amateur scene.
The play combines sharp wit with psychological observation and a sympathetic account of human unhappiness to offer something to all audience members.
The Chalk Garden; The Mary Wallace Theatre, The Embankment, Twickenham; March 1 to 8; 7.45pm, 4pm on Sunday; £10 for members, £12 for non-members; 020 8744 0547 or richmondshakespeare.org.uk.
