Pupils dressed in medieval attire re-enacted the Battle of Hastings in Beddington Park.

The year 7 pupils at Carew Manor School have covered the great 1066 battle in history classes and had visited the site of it, Battle Abbey, on October 22.

Teacher Emmet Murphy said: "The highlight for students was definitely the battle re-enactments. The class teachers in each class dressed up as William the Conqueror, Harold Godwinson, and Harald Hardrada and their respective classes were that person's army."

"Students had made swords and shields and had a fantastic time acting out the Battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings in Beddington Park."
