A community centre is hosting a free festive crafts and gift market.

The Sutton Life Centre, in Alcorn Close, is holding the free winter event for shoppers to find Christmas bargains and presents.

Products on offer include books, cards, homemade jewellery as well as traditional toys and games.

Councillor Jill White, chairman of the Environment and Neighbourhood Committee, said: "The Life Centre provides the perfect backdrop for this event as we begin the final countdown the Christmas.

"There will be plenty of opportunities for local people to get their loved ones that little something special and enjoy the atmosphere of the centre."

It is taking place on November 24 from 11am to 4pm.

So the LC's latest metamorphosis is a retail outlet. What next? How about as an A&E Department that actually admits patients who feel sick as a pig and have been referred by their GP instead of kicking them out back home after four hours "in case they catch something as I experienced on Saturday after enduring a severe infection for over 6 weeks unable to get anyone interested at the hospital through my usual communication channels. St. Helier A&E has gone down and I suspect its the effect of those nasty "NHS Bosses" and their dirty work again.
