Radiographers from Epsom, Sutton and St Helier Hospitals held a two-day exhibition last week to mark world radiography day.

More than 100 people visited the exhibition at Epsom Hospital which highlighted the work and role of radiographers - experts who take x-rays to diagnose a disease or condition inside the body.

Over the two days, the team staffed an information and advice stand, which was stocked with leaflets and information booklets offering an insight into the work of radiographers, including pointers on taking up radiography as a career.

World Radiography Day on November 8 celebrates the discovery of x-rays in 1895, which helped to revolutionise the way that healthcare professionals can diagnose an ever-increasing range of conditions, from broken bones to looking for a foreign object such as a bullet in a gunshot wound.
