A 36-year-old man has been jailed for assaulting a woman who advertised her toddler’s tracksuit on the internet.

Ravi Kumar, 36, of Laburnham Court, Robin Hood Lane, Sutton has been jailed for six weeks and put on the Sex Offender’s Register for seven years for assaulting the mother.

Kumar, who was working as a legal counsel with an IT services and business solutions company, responded to the advert for the boy’s tracksuit and called round to the mother’s home near Sutton town centre on October 2.

The woman, who was home alone with her three-year-old son, put the tracksuit on the kitchen table. However, Kumar held it up and said it was too big for his son.

She moved towards the front door to encourage him to leave, however he kissed her on the mouth and face.

He pushed her against the wall with such force that it caused her nose to bleed.

Her toddler managed to open the door while she pushed Kumar outside shouting "Get out".

The mother immediately called police and they were able to arrest Kumar within 24 hours due to the assistance of the internet company.

Kumar was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates Court on October 26 after pleading guilty to touching a woman in a sexual way without her consent.
