Lib Dems back Sutton Council tax freeze for 2013/14

Coun Ruth Dombey
Council tax in Sutton is set to be frozen for a fourth consecutive year after councillors recommended it stay the same in 2013/14.
Liberal Democrats, who have a majority on Sutton Council, have decided they will recommend a freeze in council tax, meaning it is likely it will get approved when it goes to the vote.
If the freeze goes ahead, it will be the fourth year in a row without a rise despite cuts in Government funding.
Council leader Councillor Ruth Dombey said: "This has been possible because we acted early to find savings by thinking about how we deliver every single service to our residents. This has helped us to maintain the delivery of front line services while significantly reducing costs. I am very grateful for all the hard work everyone has put in to achieve these savings."
