Liam Hardy was described as happy and popular by his headteacher
A 14-year-old boy has died after he was found hanging at his grandparents' home.
Liam Hardy, a pupil at Carshalton Boys Sports College, was found on Monday, November 19 at their home in Stonecot Hill, Sutton.
London Ambulance Service were called at 9.20pm and he was rushed to hospital.
He died on Tuesday, November 27. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
The college’s Headteacher Simon Barber described him as a happy and popular boy who will be greatly missed by staff and students alike.
He said: “Liam was a popular boy who was likable, smart and good at sport.
“His loss is felt by everyone at the school and our thoughts are with his family at what must be an incredibly difficult time.
“Our school will do everything we can to support our pupils and staff.
“We would ask others to respect our privacy and that of Liam’s family.”
Mr Barber has written to parents with children at the school.
Counsellors are at the school offering support and guidance to pupils who are affected.
A memorial has been set up at the front of the school to allow people to pay their respects.

Yes theres alot of speculation as to how he died, iv heard at least 5 different stories, yes people were writing on Facebook & yes there's a memorial tree but nobody apart from family know exactly what & how it happened so for this to be printed so soon without any permission from his family is disgusting.
Liam was a handsome & popular boy who was loved & highly thought of by all.
Please respect his family's privacy and keep them in your thoughts and prayers at this heartbreaking time.

As a member of his family I know this absurd report has done nothing but intensify the grief we are already going through, and should not have been plastered across the internet, by anyone.
For those of you who don't know Liam
there are no words alone to describe him.
He was one in million. He was an outstanding boy, thoughtful, kind and caring, with a very loving and supportive family around him.
We will miss him so much, forever he will be in our hearts.

The Guardian article however is brief and factual and I don't think there is anything disrespectful or inflammatory in it.

I don't see any necessity to indicate the name of the victim, effectively, but this article is more discreet than most I've read for 15 years now about this kind of accidental death.
I may be wrong and I hope I shall not cause more sorrow, but I can't help thinking Liam was a victim of the fainting lark.
