A Tree of Light in memory of lost loved ones was switched on in Purley on Saturday.
As part of Purley's Christmas lights switch on, the South East Cancer Help Centre's tree was lit up as the community gathered to remember those who have passed.
The huge tree which sits twinkling in the town square, can be seen by passers-by from the Brighton Road.
The tree provides an opportunity for those who have lost loved ones to celebrate their lives by sponsoring a light, and will remain illuminated throughout the Christmas and New Year period.
All dedications will be put on the SECHC website as they arrive and in a Book of Remembrance containing the names and dedications of those commemorated.
SECHC Fundraiser Liz French, said "We are amazed and very grateful for all the support local businesses and the community have given us in making our second Tree of Light such a success.
"We would particularly like to thank Pam Bryan from Purley Baptist Church and The Purley Christmas Lights Association for all their hard work in co-ordinating this project.
"We are very grateful to Woodcote Green Garden Centre for once again supplying a large tree free of charge."
