Kew Rotary Club has welcomed the festive season with the start of its Christmas event programme this week.
The club, which meets every Wednesday, is putting on a number of events including a Kew Traders sparkle evening on Friday, December 7, from 5pm.
The team will be selling roasted chestnuts and mulled at Kew Gardens on consecutive weekends from December 8, finishing on Sunday December, 16.
Richard Ward of the Kew Rotary Club said: “We have a barbecue and roast the chestnuts and heat up the mulled wine and people come along and enjoy themselves.
"Kew Gardens allow us to us into the gardens - it’s smashing. We are located at the South end so it is undercover and people can come whatever the weather.”
The Rotary Club has also organised a tour of local roads with their Santa float, visiting streets around Kew from December 10 to 12 and 17.
