Swishing is the new shopping and Elmbridge Council and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) are getting firmly behind the new craze.
The two groups will riase momcome together to raise money for charity and to help the environment by holding a swishing party.
The idea of the swishing party is to bring along a minimum of two items of clothes, shoes and accessories you no longer wear to swap them for ones you will.
One item will be donated to the BHF to sell in shops and raise lifesaving money.
The Christmas swishing party will take place at the Heart shopping centre, Walton, on Saturday, December 15. Drop off is between 11am and 11.45am, with the main swishing event at noon.
Swishers will also be given a voucher for a free tea or coffee and cake, courtesy of Flours Bakery.
The partnership between the BHF and the council extends beyond swishing, with the launch of the new Clothes+ collection service in 2013.
