Four pupils from Stanley Park High School in Sutton have won the top gong in U16s ping pong.

Guy Webster, 14, Richard Pelc, 15, Tom Beales, 14, and 13-year-old Oscar Williamson triumphed at the London South regional finals of the Jack Petchey Foundation London Schools competition.

They will now go on to represent the region at the Jack Petchey London School’s finals next month.

Richard said “I’ve been playing for more than two years and play for Crusaders Table Tennis Club. 

“I love taking part in competitions as you get to meet other players. I am very competitive and love winning.

“We’d all like to thank our coach Mike Pantin and teacher Stefan Sanson.”

The regional competition saw 28 players from U11s to U19s from six teams
representing schools from Bromley, Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton,
Richmond upon Thames and Sutton.
