Shoppers were treated to some festive cheer as pupils from Wolsey Infant school sang for charity.

For the third year running, more than 30 year two pupils sang in the Whitgift Centre to raise money for St. Christopher’s Hospice.

Led by their teacher Mrs Forward, they performed on the stage on Friday beneath the Christmas tree in the shopping centre to the crowd made up of their parents and shoppers.

Philip James, deputy head teacher at the school, said: "All of the children were very excited and happy to sing knowing that the monies raised would be going not to them, but to help others.

This leads on to helping them understand the real meaning of Christmas."
