A Shirley secondary school has decided to embrace the diversity within their community by putting on a world food fair.

Staff, parents, carers and pupils at Edenham High School will bring in a taste of their National dish so everyone can get a small taste of Croydon’s international culture.

There will also be performances from the School choir, street and modern dancers and a band.

The event is open to all ages and will be attended by the friends and family of the students, but those in the wider community are also welcomes to come along.

Media teacher and organiser Katrina Phillip said: “Our school hopes to encourage links with the wider community whilst celebrating the diverse demographic of cultures who make our school unique.”

It is hoped the event, which is taking place on Tuesday December 18, will become an annual celebration of the school’s diversity.

The event takes place between 5.30pm and 8pm and entry is £2, or free if you bring a dish.

Children under 10 get in for free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
