A man from Sutton has been banned from the whole of Elmbridge.

Edgar Ilgevicius, 19, of Mulgrave Road, Sutton, was sentenced to six weeks imprisonment and given an antisocial behaviour order at North Surrey Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 10, after pleading guilty to four charges of breach of conditional discharges.

Ilgevicius was found guilty on November 22 of a section five public order offence for swearing in a public place in earshot of a woman and two young children.

He had also repeatedly filmed officer in the course of their duty and posted the footage online.

Under the conditions of the Asbo, Ilgevicius is prohibited from knowingly taking any photographs or moving images of any person employed by Surrey Police, whether on duty or otherwise, or to encourage others to do so, and not to post pictures or moving images of police staff on any website.

Ilgevicius is also prohibited from associating with Matthew Gardener, 22, George William Willis, 18, Kieron Bryan Kavangh, 20, and from entering or being in the borough of Elmbridge at any time.

Ilgevicius’ Asbo will last five years, from December 10, 2012, to December 9, 2017.

David Hollingsworth, Elmbridge Neighbourhood Inspector, said: “The neighbourhood team and partners have repeatedly tried to engage with Ilgevicius but he has shown little regard for the law by breaching court orders put in place to allow him to change his offending ways and continuing to behave in an antisocial way to officers and staff and members of the wider public.

“I hope that this Asbo shows residents we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and that we will do all we can to protect our communities from antisocial and criminal acts.”

Under the conditions of his Asbo, Ilgevicius is banned from entering or being in the borough of Elmbridge.

Anyone who sees Ilgevicius in the borough is urged to contact police immediately on 101.
