Twenty fire fighters are tackling a blaze at a house in Sutton.
Four fire engines were called to a property in Midway next to Epsom Road in Sutton at about 1pm.
Half the ground floor, part of the first floor and roof have been damaged.
Barry Mackintosh who lives nearby said: “There were flames coming through the roof.
“The fire officers were wearing breathing apparatus.
“There’s still smoke coming out now.”
The house is understood to be a family home.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation by the London Fire Brigade.
